I am Keelin Godsey an out FTM elite athlete. I compete in the hammer throw. I competed on the US national team for the Pan-american games, and narrowly missed making the Olympic team. Up till now I have competed as a woman and was pre-everything. I am now currently taking Testosterone, started 8/7/12, and am navigating the world of sports specifically track and field as a transitioning athlete. I will be trying to make it as a male hammer thrower.

Pan American Games Update
I got 5th at the Pan American Games!! I threw 67.84m which is the 3rd best throw of my career. I wish I had thrown a little farther but who doesn't that's why I do this. This was such an awesome experience I can not say enough about it. I got to see a throwing idol of mine throw and throw really far which was awesome and hell I got to compete with her and that was even better. I am really pleased with my performance and thrilled that I got the honor to represent the United States I don't think that has really sunk in yet that I was/am a member of the national team. :D

Congratulations! What an amazing day, and an amazing journey! Enjoy the rush! :)
ReplyDeleteyay keelin! i hope you have picture for us :)
ReplyDeleteThat is nothing short of AMAZING. It is truly an honor to have you representing my country at the Pan Am games. Thank you for being you.
ReplyDeleteGoogling "www.gettyimages.com" and your name pulls up a pretty neat photo from Pan Am.....the men's competition on Wednesday had far less unmarked throws/fouls...I still wonder why the other women besides you and Sultana couldn't get more than 2 marked throws.
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts of moving to Kamloops and training for London 2012?
Happy 28th, Corbyn!! GO FOR YOUR DREAM and train for June 21st and BEYOND!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It is so amazing that you are still working hard and still improving even though you are already so good.
ReplyDeleteYou probably don't remember me, but I was at MIT when you were doing some coaching. I was checking the results from the Tufts meet this past weekend because my sister was running and I saw your distance. It was so far I had to google you to see what else you had done, and found this!
OMG, a new PR, 69.14 so early in the season, in the cold at "Snowflake"- hahah, not much snow all winter, but I guess any meet that is scheduled for March takes that chance.....
ReplyDeleteThanks to "Sarah" posting above, I found out about your impressive start....
CORBYN, YOU ROCK!!!! Go for MORE, and go for PORTLAND!!!!!!
I threw the 7.26 k implement this past weekend at a local college invitational; did poorly, my Masters age 55-59 competitions won't begin until May with the 6k...anyway, this isn't about "me", this is about being a thrower, wanting to improve.....YOU ARE IMPROVING!
Another PR, this time on California soil (Mt Sac). Unfortunately, with 3 others over 70 meters, life isn't just given to you- you have to WORK for it. I am supporting you, Corbyn- Get a PR on Oregon soil!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThinking about you, Corbyn.......June 21- go go go, be strong, be long in radius, be quick, be ready. Your day. It's all about you.
